Uyire Un Vilai Enna – An Unique Initiative by the AASI
The Automobile Association of Southern India (AASI) on Monday released a film on road safety with a view to creating a lasting impression on the minds of road users about the mental trauma of families who have lost their loved ones in accidents and the need to observe traffic laws.
The AASI, along with Prayatna Entertainment Pvt Ltd,, produced the Tamil film titled Uyire Un Vilai Enna (Life,what is your price)?.
The film identifies the consequences of violations of traffic laws in the form of inter-woven stories of people and their lives, running across 30 minutes. The DVD was released at a function held recently at the Alumni Centre, College of Engineering, Guindy, by Justice S R Singaravelu, chairman, Private Schools Fee Determination Committee.
The first copy was received by T Anand, IAS, Joint Commissioner in-charge (Education), Corporation of Chennai. T D Sadasivam, president, AASI and vice-president, FIAA, presided over the event. The event was attended by members of the association, experts in road safety, representatives from schools, professors, students of college and the general public.
Anand Babu, the director of the film, Kaushik, creative head of Prayatna Entertainment Pvt Ltd., who produced the film, and Vivek Shankar, who handled the storyline and the dialogue were also honoured at the function.
The film was screened after the release of the DVD and was well-appreciated by the audience. DVDs of the film will be distributed free of cost to educational institutions and other social service organisations to create awareness on road safety. The AASI is a non-governmental organisation, actively involved in propagating road safety.
